Home Server
A personal smart-home controller
Home Server is a private Home Assistant installation run by one individual on a computer in their own home. It brings the owner's smart-home devices together in one place so they can check and control them from their phone or computer.
What it does
- Shows the current temperature, humidity and heating or cooling status of the owner's Google Nest thermostat, and lets the owner change its mode and target temperature.
- Makes that thermostat available in the owner's Apple Home app on their own home network.
- Runs a private media library and a few household automations.
How it uses Google services
To talk to the Nest thermostat, Home Server asks the owner for permission through Google's standard sign-in and uses Google's Smart Device Management API. It only reads and controls the owner's own devices. Details are in the privacy policy.
Who can use it
Home Server is not a public service. It has no accounts for other people, is not offered for download, and is used only by its owner. Please see the terms of service.
Home Server's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
